While a one-time Marine is creating liquor to sell to his former comrades (per earlier post), the Air Force is using alcohol in another way: to fly. This A-10 attack plane flew over Florida June 28 for the first time powered by a cellulose-based fuel, derived from wood, paper, grass, or anything that is cellular. Sugars are extracted from these materials, fermented into alcohols, and then processed into the aviation-grade kerosenes used for aviation fuel.
